Lakes and Mountains

Lake Maggiore

Lake Maggiore is one of the most beautiful Italian lakes that has enchanted great Italian and foreign artists who have stayed in these areas. Considered the largest of the pre-Alpine lakes, hence the name "Maggiore", it is of glacial origin and its banks are found in Lombardy, Piedmont and Switzerland. Surrounded by hills and hills that shelter it from the northern winds, the lake sees Ticino as one of its affluents, which has traced a historic waterway linking the Po Valley with Central Europe.

Mottarone: a mountain, seven lakes

The Mottarone rises between the lakes Maggiore and D'Orta, between the provinces of Verbania and Novara. From the summit, the view stretches from the Maritime Alps to Monviso, from the nearest Monte Rosa massif to the Swiss Alps, up to the Po Valley. A unique setting just an hour from Milan.
